A better design, intuitive operation, optimized functions and more included in the new version released today

“We must not rest on laurels, but instead constantly try to improve,” says Florian Gschwandtner, co-founder and CEO of Runtastic.

Beginning today, the new version of the award-winning Runtastic App will be available to download. This release was prompted by user-feedback, and over the past 12 months, Runtastic has been working with experts to improve the app according to the most current trends.

Within, you’ll find a modern design developed with user interaction in mind. Customizable preferences allow easier navigation, while new technologies enable more effortless synchronization between app and account.

Not only does the app track the distance, intensity and elevation change of your run, now it also tells you how much you need to drink, one key element of any workout that many athletes often overlook.

“We are moving away from the simple collection of sports data and moving toward recommendations that we can give our users based on that collected information,” Gschwandtner says. He points out that this “hydration feature” helps users make informed decisions in order to stay healthy.

One plus for Runtastic users is that many of the PRO version features are now free of charge. These include the music player and live tracking and motivation.

With 70 million downloads so far, Gschwandtner states that this is the best app Runtastic has ever developed.

“It helps to lead a fit and healthy life,” he says. “And it can encourage a passion for exercise and sport that lasts.”
